Kevin Tubbs Thomas

My interest in Soul and Reggae started at an early age while spending time at my friend Leslies house, here I was introduced to the delights of Afro Carribean food and music… from Blue Note Jazz, Reggae from the Trojan record label and Funk and Soul from the likes of James Brown, Archie Bell, the Temptations and many more…

As soon as I was old enough to do a paper round I started buying records, progressing to a Saturday job allowed more to be spent…at the age of 15 I started as a warm up DJ at the Night Owl behind the Top Rank in Reading.

I later went on to work at many of the areas night clubs including Nino’s for many years. There were also appearances at Crystals, Nelsons, Bensons, Masquerades and Pantiles to name a few , along with taking a residency at the George Hotel in Wallingford, where I remained for over 15 years.

I started attending the Soulstice events in the spring of 2010 I have met lots of new friends at the events and the atmosphere is awesome. Since then i have got involved in Soulstice Radio 24 and Reading Soul Train. It’s a huge buzz playing music from my collection to our listeners… I hope you enjoy the tunes as much as i do. It’s privilege and an honour to be a part of Love Soul Radio London.
